Jimny Sierra goes where roads don't

It's not where you go that matters, it's how you get there that counts. The Suzuki Jimny Sierra has always let you do your own thing. Its nimble size makes it ideal for zipping around town. When it's time to enjoy a little freedom from the hustle and bustle, the Jimny Sierra will get you to your favourite fishing or camping spot in relative comfort.

Make no mistake, the Jimny Sierra is a true 4x4. Built on a sturdy, 3 section, ladder frame chassis, means you can push it further and harder than those "soft-roaders" you see around town. The live front and rear axles combined with 3-link coil suspensions and separate shockers, give you better ground clearance in any environment.

Where can I buy Sierra in QLD?

  • Suzuki Australia of Melbourne VIC - April 20, 2012 at 10:59AM

Hi Suanne, Jimny is still being sold normally in all Australian states except Victoria.

I heard from a Suzuki dealer the other day, that Suzuki Australia were not bringing in any more Jimnys after the stock in Australia is gone. Probably sometime this year. I would like to know if this is true. Suzuki has a great track record with small 4wds starting with the LJ80 right through the Sierra range until today with the Jimny. I know a little bit about the Sierras. I owned two of them and am still fond of the Sierra still. I am thinking of getting a Jimny that I\'ve seen, so I am still a Suzuki person.

There should be a choice of fuel options on this car: ULP; Diesel; and LPG. The days of just selling ULP cars are over - it is simply too expensive.

Just picked up my new Jimny and it will cruise at 110km no probs, drove 100 kms home and was fine.

The Jimny yes Suzuki why do you seem to want to 'hide' this model. Anyone with a Jimny will it cruise ok at 110k on the Freeway?

    • H.G. Young of Nambucca Heads - March 16, 2012 at 4:09PM

Does anybody elses Jimny Sierra make a whining noise ...????? It's been doing it since brand new.

    • Chris Lee of Geraldton - February 03, 2012 at 5:46PM

Is there any chance that Suzuki would import the diesel version into Australia, the higher torque would be useful, coupled with better fuel economy. Our Suzuki has been fantastic for many years due for an upgrade now.

    • John Renshaw of Frankston Victoria - January 11, 2012 at 6:20PM

I have a 2005 Jimny and find it a very capable off road vehicle. But would like to know why Suzuki Australia does not bring a diesel version into Australia

Great little 4wd. Had mine 12 months 2007 model. Only hit 22000 kms, but might keep until end of 2012 and buy new one at start of 2013, and should see me out. Not many 4wd\'s that do 40 mpg, or 7l per 100km. Wish I had one 5 years ago.

I am thinking of purchacing my second jimny and i agree with comments such as why does suzuki not promote jimny more and why have we not seen any major improvements such as a bigger engine for this mighty little 4wd.

    • Heath Wogan of Airlie Beach - December 21, 2011 at 1:56AM

I agree wth Chris Greenman, for those of us who actually use our 4wd\'s for 4wding, the Jimny is the perfect choice. There\'s only a handful of the full-chassis, live-axle, low-range \'traditional\' 4wd\'s left in the market these days and the Jimny stands proud as one of them. The Jimny is a tough and capable off-roader and should be respected and admired as such. You'll be surprised how much further a Jimny will go.

    • Chris Greenman of Victoria - December 15, 2011 at 9:42AM

As a proud Jimny owner i am perplexed as to why Suzuki Australia seems to want to bury this model from it's range. It is the best and cheapest off-roader you can buy new. As a first time 4wd owner i didn't want to purchase someone else's mistakes so bought a JLX Sport new, i love it, it's a great car. We also need accessories like Japan and Europe have access too from Suzuki. With the increase in camping and SUV sales, promote it!

I was told a swift sports was being imported from europe this year in fact it was featured in the Advertiser last year
