Signing on as major partners with the Melbourne Storm in 2008 was a key initiative in moving the Suzuki brand to a new lifestyle focus and continues to be a highly successful fit for both parties.
Melbourne Storm came into existance in 1998 as part of the newly formed National Rugby League competition.The Club was the first ever professional Victorian Rugby League club and spent little time stamping their mark, winning their maiden premiership in just their second year.
The NRL is now one of the highest profile sports in the country and therefore the perfect vehicle for Suzuki to promote its rapidly growing product range.
Like Suzuki, the Storm has enjoyed phenomenal success since its introduction to the competition, having played in a total of seven grand finals during their 20-year history, missing the finals on just three occassions. However first and foremost Storm is a team that is built by their members. A team which is now 20,000-strong; a team which Suzuki remains a key supporter of including backing the annual Player of the Year award.
The Club has built itself on the values of family, accountability, hard work, respect and passion; values of which also resonate with Suzuki. It is these values that drive Melbourne Storm to succeed each and every year, both on and off the field.
